Tech Women London: How to Build a Meaningful Strategy

A year ago I was tasked with building out the 18 month roadmap for transforming how we handle support. This seemingly simple request revealed the need for a clearly defined and articulated strategy and vision, which had previously been locked in the minds of the company’s creators. Over the course of 4 months, we delved into the world of strategy. We inspected and challenged the company’s mission and vision to define a coherent strategy that could be communicated easily across the company, and which we could use to help plan our future roadmaps. In this talk I am going to take you through this journey and provide a starting point to anyone wanting to build a strategy.
Frankie has been a Product Manager at Goodlord for just over 3 years and has been primarily responsible for strengthening the core product proposition. A rather tricky start in Product taught her some harsh but poignant lessons about the importance of planning. More recently she has taken an active role in defining the company’s strategy, her experiences of which she hopes will inspire others to inspect and challenge their company’s strategy.
