Fast-growing start up providing innovative security solutions and is establishing a reputation for providing high quality services to a diverse set of clients within the UK.



An emerging cyber security consultancy, backed by parent company funding and an industrial heritage, seeking to compete with traditional consultancies.



Role:



* The primary objectives of the Cyber Security Consultant are to deliver and enhance various security services provided to external clients.



* These services include technical security assessments of applications and infrastructure, security design reviews and risk assessments. This is a hands-on role, requiring technical skills from the hardware to the application layer.



Job duties:



The Cyber Security Consultant will be expected to:

* Perform application and infrastructure penetration tests, as well as physical security review and social engineering tests for our clients
* Review and define requirements for information security solutions
* Perform security reviews of application designs, source code and deployments as required, covering all types of applications (web application, web services, mobile applications, thick client applications, SaaS)
* Participate in Security Assessments of networks, systems and applications
* Work on improvements for provided security services, including the continuous enhancement of existing methodology material and supporting assets
* Participate in Security assessments which may include ISO27001, Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus frameworks, training can be provided



Requirements:



Required skills:



* Use of a variety of network security testing tools and exploits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective action, e.g. Tenable Nessus, nikto, Metasploit
* Knowledge of both automated and manual penetration techniques, e.g. OWASP Framework, PTES
* Excellent written and spoken English skills are essential
* Be able to explain the output of a penetration test to a non-technical client
* Strong inter-personal and communication skills
* Report-writing skills
* Presentation skills
* Knowledge of IP networking protocols



Desirable skills:



* Current CHECK Team Member Status (CREST, Tiger Scheme or Cyber Scheme)
* Degree or similar level qualification in Computer Science or Cyber Security
* Knowledge of exploit development
* Web/Software development skills
* Other cyber security and audit qualifications, such as EC-CEH, Comptia S+, OSCP
* Ability to hold SC clearance
